The history of the pigs is short and sweet. The members of the current group have known each other via the on line community website www.boards.ie since 2004.

Gavin, Graham and Mark went on their first investigation together in 2004 to Charleville Castle in Co Offaly there were other members for the boards.ie paranormal forum present. Being a history student Graham took a keen interest in the history of the site, Mark was interested in developing his skills as a sensitive and Gavin concentrated on gathering audio visual footage.

Mark and Niall met in person while investigating a haunted office in North Dublin in early 2005. Both were investigating the site with The Soul Searchers, a scientific based investigation team who have been active in Ireland for many years.

A trip to Ross Castle was organised via the paranormal forum on Boards.ie. Twelve people were due to attend including Gavin, Graham, Mark and Niall. After this the team, then in its infancy met frequently in Dublin’s city centre to discuss potential investigation locations and the paranormal in general. In July 2005 the Ross castle investigation took place and proved to be a successful night overall.

In 2006 Mark was invited to bring some paranormal enthusiasts to a filmed investigation at Wicklow Gaol by Louise Kings and the Sandman from east coast FM. Gavin, Graham, Mark and Niall attended. The resulting pilot TV show did not represent the Team’s vision of the paranormal, however it was a crucial experience that motivated members to take on more structure and to focus more on specific roles during investigations.

Shortly after this Edward O’Donnell and Colum Whelan joined the group. Ed, a Spiritualist has since left the PIGs to return home to his native Scotland. Colum brought an additional layer of skills to the group with his extensive knowledge of paranormal happenings in Ireland.

The team have carried out many investigations. Some in well known locations, some in private homes that can’t be named and some are simply not worth adding to the list due to time wasting investigation requests. Mark has also involved the Team in some private house investigations requested via his www.6thsensitive.com web site.

To follow is a quick list of some of the locations we have visited, the whole team does not make every investigation, but everyone tries to attend. The PIGs all have fulltime working positions.

As with most groups, not all the PIGs attended every investigation.

There are 5 members of the team, we have no hardened titles, but we have responsibilities set out on the night as dictated by our pre-investigation meetings. In the group we are all equal within the group and any new members require 100% group approval.Gavin along is the audio/podcast man and is kept busy editing x rated material from Pigcasts.Mark, the original sensitive member of the group also pulls his weight on set up and the technical aspect of investigations.
Colum uses his contacts to obtain information on potential new locations and has a generous knowledge of current paranormal happenings.
Graham being an archaeologist takes care of the historical aspects of investigations researching sites before we investigate and cross referencing information afterwards.
Niall, yet to hear, feel or see a ghost uses his skills as an electrical engineer to investigate and identify logical reasons for “ghostly” occurrences.
